McPlotBunny # 18 : FINALLY FINDING MY PLACE
BTVS / Multifandom crossover
TIMELINE: BTVS S6 (Normal Again)
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
- Do you remember the episode ‘Normal Again’ where Buffy thought she was in a mental hospital, and she didn’t want to leave her ‘hallucinations’ because her mommy and daddy were there – together?
- Well, what if she didn’t want to leave her hallucinations because she was in a world where she was a very famous superheroine – The Slayer. In this world there were lots of other superheroes and heroines. People loved them and they were idols. And finally Buffy Summers – The Slayer – was appreciated. Why would she want to leave a world like that? That’s right, she wouldn’t!
- Can her real friends bring her back from her happy hallucinations? Or will she choose her new happy life?
- What kind of villains does she have in the Superhero World? What about friends and colleagues (other superheroes)?
- Does she have a boyfriend? Who is he?
- How famous is she actually?
- Does she have a day job? What does she do? (I hope she’s not working in any burger joints)

This sounds like a good idea to me... but whoever picks this up better have a good imagination. The main reason that I can't write this is bcuz I think I would get embaressed... I'm not absolutely sure why... Whenever I see a super hero that isn't specifically named, I always get a picture of a gay guy wearing pink undies over a blue body suit with an orange and green cape at the edge of a building blowign in the wind-don't ask me why. I'm just as deeply disturbed as that makes me look...

But but but... oh, well.
How about, instead of having her parents with her in "Normal Again", she had her superhero family? There could be the ever-present force of her brother Superman (ala Clark Kent from Smallville), her sister Isabel, the extra-terrestrial (from Roswell), and their wonderfully supportive parents, who treat them like equals instead of mental inferiors.
Buffy could get used to this. She has a very strong brother. Her sister is one of the smartest people she has ever met. Her parents save the world as though it were as simple as going for a walk. She finally has a job - would love to see her as something of a superhero-like version of a lawyer in a blonde-style - and a whole new life. She's finally got someone who loves her completely and is willing to give her everything she has ever wanted.
I really want her to have a boyfriend. I do not know who it should be yet. Hell, I think she should be married, because that would be a reason to tie her to her delusional world.
As for what she should choose in the end, I think it'll be up to her to follow her heart. I don't know, but this is just an idea...

Hmmm. interesting. Maybe-if you like Joyce and/or Hank, or maybe Giles- her parents could be euperheros, not superheroes could be her parents. Does that make sense to you? And if she is saved... that is up to the author/Buffy...

Aly, you really have something there. Your idea sounds very interesting. But we need that superhero list here too... Then we can pick up the best boyfriend/husband candidate for Buffy from there. Fun! ;D

Aly, do you ahve any ideas for superheroes at all?
CrystalCheyenne: Can you put the list on the bookshelf like you have a list of what the crossed fics are for BTVS on the McPlotbunnies slide? That way the list can be easily accessed for other fics as well? That would be cool if you did.

Sure. I'll do it as soon as possible. I have time to do some updates during the weekend - at least I hope so.

I think that would be an AWESOME guide for fanfiction writers. My basic knowledge of superheroes includes the "bigger" ones of Superman, Spiderman, Batman and the entire Justice League pack. It includes the television shows of Smallville and Roswell, as well as a few others.
I like the idea of Joyce and/or Giles as her parents... it would make it a LOT harder to leave that world behind.
As for Buffy's superpowers, I think she has the ability to fight evil, just like the others. But her skill is her advanced speed and healing capabilities, not to mention she can do something funky like adapt to a new environment quickly or something of the like. Did that make any sense?

I don't really know all that much about other fandom people... just BTVS, a little bit of ATS and Charmed... that's about it... The list should be powers and stuff of everybody, not just superheroes. It would eb a good guide for authors.

Well, yeah. I was thinking that, too. A character guide, coupling guide, writing guide... dang. That would be a lot of work but in the end, wow. Thanks to a dear friend of mine, I am hooked on Stargate. Smallville has always been a passion of mine, as has Lord of the Rings. But I have already found the greatest guide to LotR that I have ever found, which has been a godsend to me.
If anyone decided to take up something like this, I would gladly help. I have a bit of time during the day as I am a stay-at-home mother.

I have also thought about this guide thing, and I think too that it should be more than just superheroes (a bunch of guys and gals in thights ;D ).
There can be superhumans section or something like that (there you can put Dark Angel's transgenics and everyone else with genetically enchanced powers).
Witches could be also good section (here of course will go Charmed Ones).
There can be lots of sections, and we'll need a lot of help with this, because this is really big project for one or two people. I know some basic characters for most of the sections we need, but the rare ones are quite tricky for me. I also would need help with putting the characters into right sections.
I think I can do the base for this guide, but after that I'll need A LOT of help.

Okay, so, I decided to do this little chart thing. I haven't finished it yet, but I liked what I came up with.
Aliens, the genetically engineered and enhanced, Witches, Werewolves (to cover everything from Anita Blake to Underworld), Vampires, Government Agents, and of course, my favorite one of all, the time travelers.
Mmmm.. what a beautiful project this shall be. I can already imagine many heads exploding.
I am already getting yelled at, so off I get from my laptop. I have made 100+ posts in two months... for this, I am such a geek.

I'm trying to think that list too, so maybe we should sometimes put our heads together and see what kind of list we can create. And BTW, my head has already exploded.

When you get shoved around or you move fast and jerk your head to the side, do you get dizzy or something for a moment? When I do, my head always recieves the invisible image of a swirl (think of spring) that pops out and through my head whenI feel dizzy. I get that a lot when I stare at the computer screen (whether reading, viewing, or doing otherwise) books, things far away, into the distance, etc. That's how I think your ideas get put on here CC. Anyways, I am not that knowledgable about the superheroes, so I'll leave that to the future ideas, Aly, and other reviewers. But about this idea, where would she live-Sunnnydale, LA? Although up to the author, what if there is just really big towns instead (think of Resident Evil) where all the places are somewhat seperated. The superheros couls be having 'testosterone problems' trying to 'one up' the people/heros from another town...
