*has been started* I like the Spike from Becoming and from Lover's Walk. That is the only reason I like him at all. After Season 5, forget it. He was far too sappy. He was just... ewww... it felt like he had no character other than a lapdog. I could rant for hours on why I do not like Spike. One of my best friends adores him though, so I will admit Spike is better in the beginning because I, for one, would rather see a hard-core vampire instead of the Slayer's fluffy poodle. Dang it. You are damn right, girl! I really liked the bad ass vampire than the sappy one after season 5. Spike was one of the best villains on the show, and I liked how he sided with Buffy against Angelus. I even admit that I'm a B/S shipper, but not fanatic. I'm firstly B/A shipper, but I like to read B/S too if those fics are about S2, S3, S4 or AU. I just skip all the S6 and S7 fics.

;D
Yay! Someone agrees!
I watched the series in a reverse order, starting with Seven and working back to Four, and then 1, 2 and 3. In my opinion, Buffy and Angel were perfect. Buffy and Riley made me want to run towards the hills, and Buffy/Spike made me throw things at the television set and threaten to return the DVDs I had borrowed in the first place.
Buffy and bad-ass Spike were awesome together... all of that chemistry was perfect. Whipped Spike did absolutely nothing for me.

When I first got into fanfiction, the first piece I found was at The Crypt, so it was BS. But I got halfway through and I put my want for BA into google, coming up with some other places including land of denial and denial haven. Let me say this, it only took me two weeks to go through the whole BA archive for BTVS. But there were like, 65 pages back then.
Anyways, now I'm into xovers, but I am basically Buffy-centric, so it is a very annoying process. And there aren't too many BA fics that are marked, so I have to look into them anyways. The xovers also rarely go finished nowadays compared to the BTVS fics... not that the non BA fics aren't good, but they aren't me. I just can't read BS after that first fic... *shudders* *puts hand on tightly closed eyelids* "Repression. repression. repression. *chants over and over again* Repression is the key.

I'm a BA shipper, but I love some BS fics too. And crossovers... These are the best! I'm soooo addicted to them. That's why I've done so many Bunnies and Inspies. Even if I like BA fics, I never actually look for crossovers with BA like you, Goddessa. If I'm creating a new Inspirational Challenge crossover, I never think about BA relationship. My first direction is putting Buffy together with the leading male character of the crossover movie/TV show etc. I'm trying to keep BA fics separated from the crossovers.
But don't worry, you can create those BA ideas for my crossovers if you like. They are your visions of my Inspirational Challenges. And that's the beauty of these Inspies: I have my own visions that I get when I do these challenges, and you get your owns when you look at the pic and read the text.

It is kind of fun to mix and match Buffy around the spectrum when it comes to crossovers. She is just a fun character to write.
I would normally keep Buffy un-paired in fics, especially since Angel turned out to be a dunce (remember I started watching the series at the end, so I had no clue they even had a relationship) and Spike was... Spike. Now, though, I will read a B/A. I might even read a B/S but only if he is not a whipped lovesick little puppy dog.

I see Angel and Angelus as totally different beings unless Angelus never got the soul returned, the two have been entertwined, or they are seen differently through certain fics. There was this one I read that was NC17 where Buffy is an elf and Angelus is a master vampire in the area. eventually they are married and then everything in the kingdom is like perfect for ten years until they make a baby and Angelus doesn't know master vampires can so he beats her and eventually leaves. But right before he returns, he gets the soul and stays in the mortal realm because the soul makes him believe that he isn't worth thier love. In that fic, the soul is more like a strainer.
I am a BA shipper and I will not read BS or anything else unless it is an xover where Bufyf is possible crossed with someone not from the BTVS world.
Although I am a BA shipper, I am also an Angel-basher when it is post-S3 for btvs. Spike... that just depends on the fic really. Same with Dawn and the scoobies.

You know, it's kinda funny to hear you to say: 'I am also an Angel basher---' Ms. BA Always! says she is an Angel basher. OMG, this is so funny. *laughing like a maniac* Okay, seriously, I'm with you, sister. I also have my own Angel-issues because she left Buffy after S3, and because of IWRY, and because of Darla, and because of Cordelia, and because of Connor, and because of... Geesh, I really have issues. Darn!

I hate Angel because of you... and you... and you...
Oi. Poor Angel. I loved the boy at the beginning but near the end I was ready to smack him over the head with my curling iron.
It is kind of funny that you think that way, Goddessa. It makes me think you adore B/A in the AU-sense and not just because of canon because in fanon, apparently, he rocks when other people write him. For some reason I cannot fathom, the show REALLY made me distrust him. And then he went to Los Angeles and became more of a pimp. Literally.

Really, it just depends what the fic is, what is happening, and when it takes place. Pre S4 btvs, I am on board for Angel totally. Post-S4, it depends. \
All until IWRY, I like to hit him on the back of the head with the posiiblyity of groveling or something.
From Sanctuary, I am really into the angst and Angel-Bashing and BA reuniting or possibly brooding.
I love the 'The Gift' and post Gift angst and possible heavenly fics where they reunite or see one another and stuff.
Basically, I for some reason, odn't blame Buffy for anything. I don't know why and inwardly I know she could have done things differently... perhaps it's just my Buffy-centric thing taken place. And then I mostly write angst... so I dunno.
Does that make any sense.
On another note, I just got back from my 2-day vacation. My parents took me, my sister, and my youngest nephew to the San Diego Zoo. It was okay, although I did get mad because they didn't give me enough time to see the cats and no one even listened to my opinion till 10-till the zoo was abotu to close after I voiced it time and time again. First we went the total wrong way and then we had to go see the monkeys (not that I have any problems with monkeys or anything) but there wasn't enough time to look at even half of the animals... Okay. I'll shut up now...

It is hard to blame Buffy. All she really did was love Angel.
Ooh, I do hope you enjoyed your vacation! We get to try a mini next week, and the thought of taking our two-year-old to the zoo is enticing. She loved spending time on my parents' farm. My personal favorite part of the zoo experience was the lion growling at my younger brother... that alone was worth the trip to a zoo in one hundred and ten degree heat. I personally love the safari animals... zebras, giraffes and other kitties. I hear the San Diego Zoo is one of the largest ones... I really wish we lived somewhere near California.

Thanx. I love wild cats-I just can't help it. I saw a S... though. (I forgot what it was called.) It's a cat smaller then a lion and a light brownish color. I'll try to think of it later.
I bet that was funny-watching your little bro get growled at. It would have been worth it to see something growl at Jeremy, my youngest nephew.
Hmmm.. INSPIRATION! I wonder if anyone has done any BA fics where Buffy and Angel and possibly others go to the zooo... That could be cool. If you wanna make it supernatural, maybe something is acting like an animal instead of a demon or alien or something.
Hope you have fun on your mini-cation Aly. I think the San Diego Zoo is one of hte larger in the US, but it closes at, like, 6 or something, and no one really has time to look around. ANd for a normal person, a single admission ticket is $21. We had 5 people!
What was I thinking about this fic before? This is 'Trapped' right? Okay, what if the 'worm' Buffy took on was once in another slayer or someone important or something? WHat if, when a 'worm' who has already been inside someone kept those memories and passed them on to her?

It would be amazing if Buffy's Tok'ra was a few thousand years old and had been someone famous. It would difficult to think of someone though.
Wait, I lied. She was someone famous in this fiction I have been beta-reading (which is a Buffy/Highlander/Stargate crossover). Because she had been infected with a Goa'uld a few thousand years old, she actually played the part of a goddess and later one of the Queens of Babylon. It would be cool if the Tok'ra had played part of the dealings of burying the Stargate on Earth during Ra's reign.
As for the mini-vacation, I do not think Ava has ever been so excited. We may try a zoo if we have time. In other words, this is Andy's business trip and he's letting us go along.

The fiction is yet untitled. I am supposed to offer one. I was given the first three chapters to offer thoughts and suggestions on whether or not they should continue. The authors names are Kat and Char... I don't think they have anything online. I just volunteered to read their story because, hello... it's a Stargate crossover.
It is pretty decent so far.
