McPlotBunny # 5 : STRESS VACATION FOR HEROES
BTVS (crossover with?)
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * Let’s start the Soap Opera!
Let’s think about that oh so famous ’Don’t trust Buffy anymore, betray her, and kick her out of her own home’ –scene, and play it again. Let’s add there more angst and dark mood for spice. And because this soup should be very hot and spicy, let’s add even more spice – Buffy knows about Angel and Cordelia, and of course, about Connor. And now we have a very spicy angsty soup with boiling emotions. Everything is ready to blow up on your face…<br>
Well, don’t worry, the Powers are here for the rescue! They sent a guardian angel to fix Buffy’s life and get rid of the First. Well… Okay, he’s not an angel, and definitely not ANGEL, it’s a demon – very badly dressing demon. Now you know who’s the who, right? Yes, it’s Whistler.
The Powers need Buffy, and they offer her a vacation. You heard right! They are very generous, and offer a vacation. But… Stop that! You knew there would be BUT.
Whistler gives Buffy an offer from the PTB: The First will be gone (for while at least), and everything will go normal, if Buffy takes the offer. And what’s the offer? She will cut all her contacts with her friends and family, removes Angel’s mark from her neck, and then takes a vacation. That’s it. No big deal. And oh, she we’ll be erased from everyone’s mind. They won’t remember her.
Okay, okay… We all know normally she wouldn’t even think about anything like that. Leaving her friends… Getting rid of her last reminder of Angel. NO WAY! But (and the BUT again)… She’s little pissed off right now, and thinks about the offer very, very seriously. What she got to lose? Her friends kicked her out of her home and they don’t want her anymore (sniff!). Angel is smacking with Cordelia, and has a son with Darla. So, what the hell! Let’s take the offer and do it! Here we come! Vacation time!
So, the PTB will erase all the evidence from Buffy’s friends’ mind. No Buffy anymore. Who’s Buffy? They give Buffy a big bank account and direction where to go. She’s a little sad about that her friends won’t know her anymore, but what the hell! They wanted it, practically begged it. And now it’s done.
Soooo, what’s the place where she’s going? Well, if you’re sad, tired, burned out hero, the PTB offers you a vacation on a tropical island which location no one knows. There are dozens of heroes relaxing and having good time. The island is isolated and you can’t get away from there without help of the hosts. So, it’s pretty much like a fantasy island – heroes with costumes (or not), a lot of entertainment, fun, sun and relaxing – oh, and other people knowing what you’re going through. It’s like a dream, right?
While Buffy’s meeting new people and enjoys her first real vacation for… ages, her friends (former friends?) live their lives like nothing isn’t differently. Occasionally someone of them feels like something is missing, but then shrugs the feeling off, and life continues on again.
But Angel… He’s a whole different (nut?) case. He feels the missing piece too, but he can’t just shrug it away. It just keeps bugging him hours after hours, days after days… He feels like he’s going crazy if he won’t find what the missing thing is. He knows something is broken or taken away from him, but he just can’t figure it out what. Then he starts to see dreams and visions about beautiful blonde girl. His friends start to freak out (‘It’s Darla again!’).
It was never PTB’s intention to take the memories away from Buffy’s friends permanently. They just wanted to give her time to relax until her annoying friends would start hunt her down again and bug her with their excuses. So, her friends start to get Buffy-pieces back piece by piece.
Removing Angel’s mark was a security option – they knew it was possible he could track her down through their link, but they also knew the link was weak because Angel left his mate behind and move on with another woman. Well, they didn’t exactly count that Angel still would remember Buffy, even if he couldn’t remember who / what she was to him.
Buffy has finally found a place where she belongs, she has new friends who like her the way she is, and maybe some admirers too.
There are some big questions now:
Can Angel and Buffy’s friends get their memories back before Buffy moves on with her life, and leaves her memories of the past behind (and finally decides her past life was too painful and she doesn’t want to live like that anymore)?
Will Angel choose between Buffy and Cordelia?
Does Buffy love Angel anymore? Can she forget how he had hurt her?
Can Buffy forgive her friends?
When the time comes, can she leave her paradise island behind?

I think that this is a really good idea. BA of course for me. I have no interest in Cordy whatsoever in this idea for a fic. Okay, here goes with my answers on how I think it should go... : Can she forgive her friends: No Will Angel choose Buffy over Cordy: of course. Cordy is just there as a distraction. Will she leave the perfect island: Yes, but she should take her friends with her. .....But that's just my POV. ...and If anyone could include Anne/Lily in this, that would jsut be fab! scooby bashing is cool in this case. BA ALWAYS!

You know, I kinda like this idea too.
I kinda like that this would end up Buffy/Angel, but this bunny has so much possibilities. Maybe she would find some hunky hero from that island. Who knows...
I really hope that someone would write this one...

I hope someone does this idea. I'll probably end up doing a begining for it, and then just suddenly stop. Maybe you could set something up for osme of these stories where a bunch of peole just post little chapters of the stories... like an ongoing thing fom different peoples' POVs. That's be cool!

It might work, but you still need to do some group work with others who write the other parts.
You have to be sure that everything clicks with everything. Another person could mention something in his/hers part that doesn't fit with some other parts.
But I think this could work. I really have to think about this...

Well, it was just an idea-one that I really liked and think should be tried.
It would be like continuing for another person, but not having to do it all, and seeing what everyone else wants to do with it. Yes, there would have to be a lot of stuff decided before hand (pairings, plot, characters, etc.) but that shouldn't be TOO hard, right? I hope you do agree to do this somehow.

It would probably have to be something a little more organized than a round-robin, which, I will admit, can get rather chaotic! Collaborations is always good, and organization is the key to any good collaba-fic. This is just a hint to say that my mind has been overwhelmed by the different bunnies hopping around it because of this site. It has become rather addictive.

You're right about that Round Robin, that wouldn't work, - believe me, I know.
If I would do this with group of people, the group should be small - maybe four or five people. Everyone would has different job to do. Someone would write about Buffy's time on that Island, someone about Scoobies, someone about AI, and so on...
Time to time they have to discuss what everyone is doing, so there won't be any 'screw ups'. The idea doesn't work if someone writes something that doesn't fit in someone else's story part.
There has to be a line where the writers stay, and if one of those writers cross the line, she / he has to discuss with the others if this line crossing doesn't fit in the other story parts.
I haven't exactly thought about this idea so much. But if someone is interested in about this idea, just go for it.
I think someone could write this story alone, without any help - but the discuss group could be good idea. I mean that the Island where Buffy goes is full of heroes (How many of them? Dozens? Hundreds?), so you have to know more than just BTVS or AtS characters / things.

The 'round robin' thing was just an idea, say someone posts a 200 word chapter, and someone adds to that slowly. Not really a big thing.
This fic is still something that I hope someone will pick up. I'd do it myself, but it would jsut end up half-done.

Oh, it would most likely only get halfway done here, as well. I have just started to watch television shows I could crossover with Buffy and have ready enough books to satisfy the library I used to work at.
I think this one may have to go on the "possibility" list, but considering that I am just getting into fanfiction, it would be rather scary to see what I could come up with.
Round-robins though, for the most part, almost never work unless well coordinated. After suffering my creative writing class in college, it was absolutely dreadful.

Eh, I probably will not write this little ficlet. I have far too much on my plate as it is. However, it does still put many ideas in my head. My site is --> five-by-five.us/words. I really owe my two guilds girls a lot for giving it to me! There isn't a lot there right now, but that's where everything I have ever written will be eventually placed. It's sort of scattered everywhere at the moment. The main site is my site collective, but that one is where I'm putting everything else.

Hmmm... too bad. I think you could pull this off. Aly, are you ever gonna update your place? It looks like it can be really good...
About the fic. Would hte island have any problems? Say, a volcano or weather problems, or is it plainly a true apradise where people (warriors and champions) come for vacation and things?...
