So you want to get some action, huh? ;D
I don't mind some excitement, so there can be a volcano or some really big hurricane is coming towards or.... Whatever you want.
So, what happens if some kind of disaster hits the island?

If a disaster does hit, somehow, would it make a big bang and leave them stranded, or would it clean up and be as if it never really hit the island?
What would the PTB's reasons be for allowing the storm on the vacation island prepared b themselves?

Or could the storm be the reason why they have to vacation on the island anyway?
ETA: Now that I think about it though... a volcano would be pretty... intense. Especially if the island is full of heroes who don't really know how to save themselves from mother Nature. It could be the PTB's way of trying to send them back - or whichever "deity", I guess, controls the hero's line - the place where they get their guidance... I really don't know if this is coming out right!.

Wait-the First or whomever the next bad guy evil deity guy, who is wanting the slayer back for battle, could always be responsible for them having to leave the PTBs prepared-and-conditioned vacation islean. Did that make any sense

Hmmm... You're right, we gotta get that. When I have time I'll do that (wishful thinking...). Then we can update it when someone knows other superheroes...

Question/Suggestion: What if the holiday vacation island is in the Bermuda Triangle? Would there be noticable supernatural things happening in the ocean areas surrounding hte place to keep people away, or is it some other reason? Or just coincidence?

Woah! Bermuda's Triangle? OMG, that's awesome idea! You know there is the myth going on about planes, ships, boats etc. disappearing around the Bermuda's Triangle - does this myth has something to do with the hero island? Do they have something to do with those disappearings?
How do the heroes know about the Island? How did they find it? Do they get the information from someone / somewhere? Who runs the show on the Island?[/color]

Yeah, I liked my idea too. Maybe, in order for the mind-reversal-forgetting-thingy thing to happen, they have to take a plane or something to the area, which in turn creates fairytales of people dissapearing and stuff. It might explain why everyone has stories about the Bermuda Triangl, but no one knows who they were that dissapeared.
And for some reason, the Loch Ness Monster stared flashing in my brain. DOn't ask why-I have no clue. Crap... now I'm going to be thinking baout it all day...

Maybe the disappearing acts have to do with the fact that heroes cannot be "seen". Therefore, if they are seen, or even if the island is glimpsed, perhaps there is a magical barrier that unknowingly transports these ships, etc, to another dimension. Just a thought.
As for monsters, perhaps they protect the island, like the Loch-Ness or perhaps Godzilla or an enormous snake or whatever.
Maybe whoever created this barrier didn't know that it throws those glimpsing the heroes to another dimension.

The PTBs are technically running the show though, if that ameks sense. So I don't think they wouldn't be aware if people were going to other dimensions.
Maybe that, when they touch the forcefield, it automatically sends them to the other side facing that way, screwing any machines up as well. It would be like they just went through nothing, and the people wouldn't even be aware of it.
I hope whoever gets the fic out in the open decides to use plenty of fluff, humor, and 'yeah right' moves on the fic. It's gonne be awesome most likely for whoever takes it up.

Oh, that did make sense.
I was just having a pink-haired moment.
I know this post had no significant value whatsoever, alas I will try to add some.
I think the heroes should have a built-in sensor that tells them when they need a break and where to go. I think it should match something of the Elves finding Valinor from Lord of the Rings. They are born into the world and have the calling to go to the West. Maybe they just take a boat or a sea-doo or something and suddenly find themselves on an island. They could also have a jewel or a pair of shoes or something they can click the heels of, say "There's no place like an island built for me" and suddenly they are there. I think that would be writer's perogative.
The Powers run the show, right? I am sure they have their own rules. It would be great fun to see the different powers duking it out just to show up another group of Powers.
I think they should have one individual running things on the island, sort of like the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz. Maybe.

Ooo. I like that idea. Who would run it though? It would have to be some character that has some kind of relationship with saving the world or something, but they would have to understand the fact of fun and free time. The good witch from the Wizard of Oz sounds like a cool person to be there.
Speaking of Oz, maybe there is someone from the island that she knows already, a possible x-scooby or something. Or maybe Jean from the X-men, if the author wants to play Scott as her cousin or something. Maybe instead of really dying, Jean got put on the island to learn to control her powers.
Since the PTBs are running the show and all, I think it would be cool to make all the heroes and stuff on the island temporarily Immortal (think of Highlander.) They can die as many times as they want on the island, but they don't really age or anything. They just come back to life all healed and stuff.

That's what I was thinking as well. The Good Witch was the only person I could think of at the moment. I am uncertain of others, but... it is the author's perogative, as always.
I also like your idea about Jean. I think it would fit really nifty-like. Also your idea of instantaneous immortality would be fun... that way, the heroes wouldn't be worried about killing one another if their powers become a little too difficult to control.
