So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #69. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
Why everyone treats her like she is a baby?
What kind of relationship she exactly has with Elrond's twin sons?
Why Saruman is after her?
What is the timeline?
TIP: This is a BTVS AU / Lord of the Rings crossover

She is probably treated like the baby because she is one of the youngest. Maybe she is playful and looks really innocent, despite the great difference in actuality known by those near her who still treat her like a baby. She has blonde hair, brilliant green eyes, and is petite, especially for an elf.
Maybe Saruman gives her nightmares (slayer-like) and she starts to know things about combat or something from other reincarnations.
As I am a BA shipper, I am thinking that maybe she already has a spiritual mate, despite her younger age. (Angel of course) Maybe he is an elf in a far land or one that dissapeared long ago. That will give mystery. Maybe the twins were best friends with Buffy's love, and that's why they are close.
If Buffy is dreaming of him, having nightmares and stuff, maybe Buffy's relationship with the tins is strengthened because they are the only ones that really believe her about the truth in the dreams.
When Saruman comes after her, maybe the elders and people around her take a good look at Buffy and realise that she is far wiser then they gave her credit for despite her age and appearance.

This is probably the first challenge I have seen where Buffy is a member of a Lord of the Rings family.
This is still my favorite style of crossover, I'm afraid to say. Stargate crossovers have become addicting, but not nearly as much as these are to me. Anything by Tolkien is fair game for me...
Anyway, to this idea.
I will assume that since she is an Elf, she is not a Slayer. Elves have great strength and wisdom beyond their years, not to mention the fact they are immortal. Immortality and Slayer do not fit together, hence she is not a Slayer. She is treated like a child because she is a lady Elf, supposed to be a waif and submissive to authority, especially the authority of her cranky father Thranduil. As her mother was killed by Orcs, it would make sense that they would try to keep her under wraps.
However, enter Elladan and Elrohir *snicker*. What sort of trouble could they get this Elven mistress into? How many heart attacks will they give her dear Adar and brother? And how many times will Legolas bail her out of trouble? Perhaps she would see the twin terrors of Elrond as kindred. It would be easy to ship one, but it would be difficult to choose one. They would be willing to teach her things like combat and shooting and other things that her brother would never teach her. Hell, they are so damned scared that she will die like her mother did that she never knew the truth about how her mother really died.
Perhaps with her fiery nature and her unorthodox ways, Thranduil would send Legolas and Buffy to Rivendell, and therefore give Buffy a little breathing room and allow her a chance to live.
Saruman is evil, now, right? Perhaps the White Council was after an Elvish representative of Thranduil and Elrond chose Buffy. That would be a reason for Saruman to teach her a lesson because of what Sauron's forces did to her mother. She may have even discovered he was evil and he starts to induce nightmares to bring her to insanity so she wouldn't get a chance to tell.
I would like Buffy to be a previous life self, perhaps.
The timeline would be before the first film and around the time of the White Council. I forget the timeline, but this was when Galadriel, Elrond and Gandalf, amongst others, met up to discuss Sauron and the return of the Ring of Power. However, Saruman led this meeting until Gandalf discovered his treachery. He met before the birth of Prince Imrahil, so obviously about sixty years before the journey of the one Ring even began.
I love these types of crossovers. If I had to choose a ship, I would choose Glorfindel (or, to be really odd, Elrond). Those are my favorite Elves, and I have yet to write a ficlet centering around a romance with either of the two.

I've seen all three movies, but I am afraid that i don't have any idea to what the timeline even consists of. It would be to confusing for me, so I will just put down some comments for idea worth, not big ones, just the little ones.
I think the twins and Buffy are all a little *snicker* child-like in that they're 'pranksters' (kinda like the marauders out of HP) and find themselves alike in that they're younger in the line and considered not really eye-worthy, if you know what I mean.
I can see her borther as kinda preppy and way-way-over-protective. Him and thier father try to keep her in the dark which just eventually leads to trouble.
Maybe the lady of the wood and Gandalf continue to see something special in her though... So maybe they taught or things she wasn't suppost to know. (magic.)

www.glyphweb.com/arda/ - The best Lord of the Rings reference site ever. The first movie should have spanned about, oh, thirty years. Bilbo's ring was discovered around his 111th birthday... by the time he died, which is at the end of the third film when he takes the ship to Valinor, he is 130. The entire Ringbearers journey is about 14 months total. This one is, pardon the English, frickin' tempting. I'll wait until I am done with one project before even considering a second, however. And I so wanted to do another Stargate... CC! You torture-er! *was kidding, sort of*

Glad to be in your service. ;D At first I thought this challenge would have some Buffy + double Elven smutty goodness (you get the meaning? I have sooo dirty mind), but then I decided you should be satisfied with the friendship they could have. But I won't go against if someone wants some smutty goodness in there. You know, I just wondering about Buffy's behavior and her outlook. Maybe one reason why everyone thinks she is just a baby because she has some un-ladylike manners and clothes. What would happen if they see her in a beautiful dress for the very first time?

I'm lazy right now, so I'll try to take a look at it later. Plus, it's almost 10 here, and my dad will start bugging me soon. (how annoying!) Anyways, about the fic inspi idea thingy we're all participating with here, if ur looking for some tom boy>bad girl good girl creativity where everyone starts to realise things... the idea where they have a pary, and Legolas gets her to actually attend would be cool. When a friend (girl) shows her a dress, Buffy could naturally like it, but when her friend leaves, there is just something that she has to do. Maybe she *snip snip* edits the dress just a little to work her way. She attends and everyone sees her as a woman or at least not a child now that the dress may show off some... curves. Another idea, is that the brothers fight over her, or join Legolas in 'saving her dignity' (ahem. They don't want ANYONE looking at her.) They can always get mad at her and speechelss and stuff, but she just smiled in her impish 'innocent' way and doesn't retire to her room to change into something more 'appropriat' for a 'young girl like herself' to show herself. "Hurricane Buffy strikes again" in Cordy's words.

Ahem... a little idea given to me by a friend of mine.
The twins would obviously be eager to teach her how to be a proper Elf - to be able to kill with a vast array of weapons, to be as obnoxious as possible to Dwarves and... enter the smutty goodness - how to act like the proper Elvish wife.
I have no idea how to put this. I will try though.
They sort of... guide her through the ropes.
There... that just about did it. There were other ideas, too. Poor Elladan and Elrohir never get any love... and no wives, no kingdom, no nothing. This is their chance with a real Elven princess.

I still don't kow much about this timeline. But she apparently hasn't done much in the way of her sexuality. So they are showing her around the blocks as two friends do to thier best and only person they can bond with.

Oh, learning as friends, of course. It would have to be a grand-master-epic to get her completely fallen in love with a nice Elf.
Speaking of which, an interesting sequel would be a rebourn Buffy with the still-living Elf. Or even flashbacks. Or something.
Then again, more ideas, not such a good thing... must... stop talking now.

I suck at explaining things when my mind works and my fingers cannot catch up.
What I was thinking was of something like the fic on FF.net, The Nightrunners' "Brothers in Arms". It is a modern-day AU fic that features the Elves as their 30,000-year-old selves (or, in Galadriel's case, about 100,000-years-old) and the reincarnated members of the Fellowship. It has been my absolute favorite AU Lord of the Rings fic from the beginning. I only wish they would continue it... the hiatus is killing me! So, my apologies for not explaining myself!
I was just thinking of something that could potentially happen after this current plot was over. Once again, my thoughts ran away from me. It was Buffy being a reincarnated version of herself from 30,000 years before, and the older Elves still existing. If that makes any sense, anyway.

Uhm... I'm not really all that into to LOTR. I'm more of a BTVS person. But that's a good thought. Reincarnation is fun to play with. I'm even doing one called Reincarnation, Slayer Style at FF.net. It's defeniteley not finished and is Btvs/Ats/HP.
What about prophecies? Maybe the three of them do know about it and are close because it mentions all of them.
Maybe they don't and the others try to shield them from it, only to fail.

I wouldn't call it a prophesy, since those seem to be non-existant in the 'Rings' world, but I would call it a blood-right or a birth-right. They have been destined to do something all along, their own quest to uncover something... and it could be Buffy's powers or something as simple as that. Or it could be some elaborate jewel (yet not the one Ring) or something more complex. My genre started out with Tolkien, so I know a heck of a lot more than I think I should. Once I finish the projects I am working on now, I might have to try my hand at one of these. Oh, and I must check out your Reincarnation ficlet. I will do so tomorrow when I have yet more free time to waste while baby sleeps all day... again... and keeps us up till 3 am... again.

Baby must be tiring. I probably wouldn't wake up at a cry though. Hope you can get some good sleep. And about my ficlet, it aint finished, and I am slowly trying to go back and update. Tell me what you think and give ideas to if you will.
About the inspi, I like the idea of a high class party, and Buffy showing up in something revealing that gives them that view. They are all trying to hide her from the other mens' gazes. And what about the fellowship? Do they show up here?
Or maybe the ring reaches the city, like maybe one of the twins, and then the three of them (secretly?) sneak off on the adventure.
