Buffy stayed with Spike till the end when the school and the whole town were collapsing. Not because she couldn’t think of losing Spike, but because she felt that if she survived, she would be so lonely. She couldn’t trust her friends anymore, and she was sick of fighting. She didn’t want to be the toughest anymore – she wanted to show her emotions, feel something, but she couldn’t do that with her friends. So she felt that it was her time to finally go.
But the PTB didn’t like her plans, so they interfered a little bit… When the end came, she actually died (like Spike died in the show – she became dust and then ‘poof’, she was gone). The PTB sent her to another world where she could be herself, where werewolves and vampires are ordinary things. Where she could help the helpless again… But there is a little ‘but’ coming… Before she could help the others, she needs help too – the PTB sent her there with a transparent ghostlike body, and she has to get rid of that first. So, she gotta find someone who could help her first. Where can she find someone who could help her without running away from her screaming?
