McPlotBunny # 9 : IN PIECES
BTVS / Angel crossover
TIMELINE: BTVS - Season 4, Angel - Season 1
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
- Buffy was angry when Angel left her, and it took many months before she could even talk about him.
- Oz left Willow some time between Graduation Day and when the college started, and Willow and Tara started to date much earlier than on the show.
- Doyle never got any ‘danger-alerts’ from Sunnydale, so Angel never went there – so, no Thanksgiving happiness.
- Wesley comes in LA much earlier, and starts to work with Angel, Cordy and Doyle.
- Buffy has tried NOT to think about Angel, and then Cordelia calls Giles, and Buffy answers the phone when Giles isn’t available at the time. LA Gang needs some info and Buffy tries to give some answers, then Cordelia asks Buffy to wait a moment. Buffy hears how Cordelia talks with Angel and asks about his date with Kate (yes, Angel went date with her – was it just a work date, or something more serious?) Buffy is almost in shock when she realises Angel is already dating with some skanky ho, so he obviously never even loved her so much that he would hurt as much she hurts.
- Buffy is almost catatonic for couple of days. Then she tells Willow and Tara about Angel, and they both are sorry for her and promise they could turn him a rat or something. Buffy gets an idea: she wants to get Angel away from her life, which means she wants to get rid of everything that reminds her about him. Willow and Tara promise to help her.
- Buffy gathers every reminders of Angel (letters, drawings, his leather jacket, the cross he gave her etc…) and give them to Willow and Tara, so they could just burn or throw them away. Willow sees what she has given them, and is quite sad and worried about her. She knows how much those things mean for her. So the witch couple just hide them, and tell Buffy they burn all the things.
- Then Buffy wants to get rid of Angel’s mark on her neck. Willow and Tara aren’t really sure how they could get rid of it, because it would mean they would have to break the possible bond that is between her and Angel. Buffy is very persistent to get it away from her neck. So the witches find a way to do it.
- They do the spell and the claim mark vanishes from Buffy’s neck. Buffy feels emptiness claw its way into her heart, and she feels like she is alone, like something is missing. She knows she would ever again feel happiness or warm. Angel’s presence would never again be around her.
- At the same time in LA Angel feels how the spell hit him. He drops on the floor in pain. He feels coldness surround him. He feels like he couldn’t breath (well, if he would breath). Finally something breaks inside him, but he doesn’t know what.
- Days after the spell hit, he can’t do much else than sleep and lay down. He feels like he is dieing (well, if he wouldn’t already be dead). He knows something is very wrong but can’t identify the feeling.
- The LA Gang thinks the Wolfram and Hart is after Angel’s ‘illness’, and they try to find a cure for it. Their last resort is to visit the Oracles.
- But they couldn’t find them, because the Oracles were asked to go see PTB. Higher Powers are quite upset (well, let’s just say in panic) because of what Buffy has done to herself (and Angel). Now they are trying to find solutions how to get the star-crossed lovers back together and solve the problem. If they can’t solve it, they both could die because of the bond breaking. No one has ever survived long after vampire’s mating claim has removed ‘violently’. And because Buffy and Angel are real soulmates, it’s going to hurt even more.
- Back in Sunnydale, Faith wakes from her coma. The Scoobies don’t trust her, but finally Buffy promises to help her, and Faith starts to gain her redemption.
- Spike also comes into the picture. He wants to kill Buffy, but when he finds out about Faith, he wants to have some ‘double-fun’. He finds it very interesting to ‘dance’ with two Slayers at the same time. Finally they don’t even try to kill each other, it’s just sparring and flirting between Faith and Spike.
- Buffy can’t stand anymore their innuendos, and kick their asses and yells them she doesn’t wanna see them until they have solved their UST problems.
- Spike really likes Buffy and Faith, so he follows them when they are patrolling, and he watches that there aren’t any dangers for them. Once when he is following them, he hears how Buffy tells Faith about Angel and what happened between them. And how she finally ended her Angel-brooding. Spike hasn’t ever really liked his brooding grandsire, but when he hears about the claiming bond’s breaking, he feels sorry for the old man – he knows what could happen to vampires who have separated from they mates by breaking the magical bond.
- Spike is very curious how Angel is feeling at the time, so he decides to make a road trip to the city of the angels.
- The LA Gang is ready to stake Spike when he enters their little office. Angel wants to deal Spike by himself (hey, he’s his grandchilde). But he hasn’t very much strength to do it, all of his strengths are gone during his ‘illness’.
- Spike gives Angel some nasty remarks and dirty jokes, but finally he admits he knows what is happening to Angel. The Gang of course assume the worst, and they believe he is behind everything. But they get a very big surprise when he tells who is really behind is, and why…<br>

... and the next thing you know, Angel is storming back to Sunnydale demanding to know why Buffy would do this and she begins to realize for the first time that what she did to herself affected Angel as well. Deciding he would like some payback, Angel ships Spike back and brings forth both Cordy and Wes (both who have seen magicks done before) to do a little de-Buffy-ing spell on himself. The result?
Buffy is left near death in a coma. Once Angel realizes the ramifications of what he has done, he races back to Sunnydale only to face off against a VERY pissed off Faith. Faith, acting on her own redemption streak, vows to payback Angel for the time he tried to help her. So she tells him like it is, how Buffy really feels and how listening to Angel's new life with his new "whore" really made Buffy feel and THAT'S the reason why she went completely psycho...
The only problem is... they have one last connection that keeps them both alive... and can they make it before it's too late? Time runs out on both...
{ on a side note, I am working on my challenge, I swear. I have been rather ill this past week and these past two days are the only days I have been able to get anything done besides lay in bed and sleep for hours and hours on end. }
This seems like a fantastic bunny... once that could be potentially full of angst. While I normally do not ship Buffy and Angel, it would be a good jump in that direction. I am not sure if I would ever write this, but I would certainly love to read it!

Ooh, this sounds nice (and angsty). ;D
I wasn't sure how I would like to continue this bunny, so I kinda left it unfinished. You filled it nicely.
Hmm... but there are so many other options too. It could also happen that very pissed off Angel and his Gang would go to Sunnydale, and there would be very angsty meeting with Buffy. Lots of accusations, tears etc... They try to solve how to get them both 'back'. One solution could be that Angel would have to mark her again, but then again would Buffy go there? Probably not , so they have to find some other 'cure'.
Angel could also have some discussions with Angelus, who is accusing him that the whole problem is Angel's fault.
I'm not sure how this could continue from there...

Hmmm... possibilities are endless really. Angst, tears, and drama are big fat DUHs in this bunny. I see pain to both of them with the feeling of emptiness, and maybe they start to lose other feelings too, because of this. Like, Buffy could kind of just not really care anymore.
Tara, who can read auras might see something defeniteley wrong in her. Like, a soul is bright and colorful, while her own is just being kind of dim with half missing or something.
If Dru was to come into this, then she could be talking about some prophecy or other. And does Giles know about the spell? Probably not, unless his feelings on the matter have been skewed.
If a scooby basher happens to take over this bunny for a challenge then maybe Willow and them never saw anything wrong. It could be just Spike, Tara, adn Faith.
Faith and Buffy have the whole sister slayer 'hungry and horny' thing going on now, so the should be close-they've both made transgressions over each other, and have gotten over them. Does F know about her 'infatuation' with S, and likewise? Is it meanless flirting with some unintentional hmping in there somewhere?
Cordelia and Kate-were they really on a date, or was it a meeting that of course, C has to rehash, interprate irrationally, and have a blonde bimbo following on his heels.
Is Doyle dead? still there and still in love with C? Still there but can now see through her Cordyness? Or is she not as 'ur highness' as before?
Lots of Qs. Lots of Ideas. Lots of posiibilities. Hmmm... Hope someone takes it up.

These are seriously some fantastic ideas.
Dru, especially, would be quite interesting to step into the fold. Can you imagine through her psychotic psycho-babble that she actually knows something is wrong with both the Slayer and her own sire? Oh, she could call Buffy 'Little Miss Sunshine' and everything!
I personally love Doyle - I was a huge fan of Glenn before and now that I am actually starting to watch Angel, I fancy him even more. If anyone could get through that Cordelia-esque behavior, I would assume it would be him!
My brain is seriously mushy right now. I wish I had more but now all that comes to my thought is really more angst and tears and drama.
Someone had better darned well take this up.

I love that Dru idea too.
Hmm... Maybe she would go to meet Angel before Spike went there. And she would babbling about Little Miss Sunshine, and Angel and his buddies have no freaking idea what she's talking about...
I like Doyle, so I wanna keep him in this story. And Cordy is still that Queen C, and Doyle is trying to tame her.

Could you imagine how confusing it would get for Dru to be down there sprouting off at the mouth only to have Angel and the others completely confused? It would make perfect sense for Cordy to think that it would be Buffy in the first place, as well.
I am also up for delicious Faith-Spike sparkage/flirtation/deadly enemies games. It would be a fun read, considering there are far too few of them out there.

So, we gotta have Dru in this story, right? She's bringing some extra spice.
And how does she react when she finds out her little Spikey is playing with Faith?
Think about this: She's in LA with Angel and his gang. She is moaning about Little Miss Sunshine and broken bonds, and then she starts yelling about her precious little boy who has been very naughty boy, and playing with Slayer. And now Angel is starting to get very pissed off. 'Spike is with the Slayer! Spike is with BUFFY!'
And what if Spike comes in right at that moment...

Well that would probaly result in Spike beingb eaten to a bloody pulp. And no one wants that!!!
What about Darla though?? Wgere is she during this whole thing? Does W&H still bring her back?

Hmmm... I haven't thought about Darla...
But W&H could be nice idea. How would they react when they find out Angel is losing his 'control'? Probably celebrating, right? But do they wanna find out what is causing Angel's 'illness'?

I think W&H could bring Darla back... after they find out that Angel's other half belongs in Sunnydale. Could you imagine the amount of power that Angel would have once he and Buffy got back together? Throw in a little Darla... and throw in Angel's old love for her. An unpleasant distraction for certain, eh?

Okay, so Darla is now in the picture, what about Dru. If Dru is there, which side is she? Is she backing up grandmomma Darla or Daddy?

I was thinking perhaps Dru could betray W&H sort of like she did on 'Angel'. She turned Darla and then they went on a killing spree. What would happen if she says she'll "turn" Darla again, only she actually KILLS her to save Angel because Buffy and Angel being together is going to lead to all sorts of insanity and Dru has been just dying to exact revenge on Angel for making her looney.
Of course, it would always be nice to see a be-souled Dru... cracked crazy talking in loopy limericks all the time, and yet she remembers every last horrendious thing she's ever done.

So, she would kill Darla? Is this her idea or was it Miss Edith's idea? I may be crazy, but I kinda like Miss Edith ;D

"Let's play a game... it is called Miss Edith Says. You play it and you live..."
Miss Edith says kill the naughty girl trying to destroy your perfect revenge scenario...
Miss Edith says use the naughty girl's death to drive a wedge between total happiness...
Miss Edith says... lemons are for wusses.
I think it is far too late for my mind to speculate such things... but playing Miss Edith Says could definitely be a 'Dru-like' thing.
