So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #45. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
What happened to Buffy?
What's the timeline?
And how Trance knows who Buffy really is?
TIP: This is a BTVS / Andromeda crossover

I know next to nothing of Andromeda (but I have this really nifty friend who has been lending me all of his science fiction things as of late, so...), but this idea just sort of came to me.
What if, instead of the Powers sending Buffy to another place where she does not belong, she is put into a stasis chamber (eternal sleep)?
I would assume a better timeline for this would be after Season 7. What I think might happen is that when the Slayers were all activated, it turned off a generational "switch" so that the next time a Slayer would be activated would be hundreds of years after all of the newly-turned Slayers were dead. So, assuming that the government is now involved with the new Watcher's Council, Buffy volunteers to try the new version of cryostasis. She's put into a deep sleep for years and wakes up the only survivor aboard a ship. Why? Let's say that the crypt she was buried in contained ancient symbols or something prophetic. I am trying to figure out how much Trance actually knows about her except to say "she carries a great power".
That is about all I have for this one at the moment.

So Trance knows more about Buffy, but will she tell her friends about it?
If she was put in that eternal sleep, did they actually tried to keep her asleep forever? Or only for specific time (a decade, a hundred years...)
And why was she alone aboard that ship? What happened to others?
Did she actually wake up by herself, or did she wake up when Andromeda's crew find her and they took her to their ship?

Oi... I think I should reiterate that the only reason I know of Andromeda is because my roommates used to watch it. That being said...
I think that Buffy should stop Trance from telling her friends who she is... at least, for now. Buffy should realize that Trance is asking uncomfortable questions and ask her not to say anything, at least until Buffy knows where she is and why she's there.
I think the stasis should have lasted about a hundred years. When exactly is Andromeda set, anyway? Does Earth still exist? Maybe with the destruction of some city, a sample of different ancient relics were taken. Since the Slayer was sleeping in a coffin with a bunch of symbols or something on it (or it may even be the sample of silver in the cross around her neck), she was taken, too.
I would assume that the Andromeda's crew DOES have a means of reviving people in sleep. Maybe Buffy was supposed to be awakened by the Watchers of the future, only they no longer exist. So now she wakes up a few hundred years after she was supposed to only to find out that the world she thought she knew no longer exists.
Perhaps the ship was abandoned during some attack, but they were forced to leave their artifacts behind? I do not know about this one, but it would make some sort of sense.
Wow. For not knowing a lot about a single show, I actually like the idea of this crossover.

I know next to nothing of Andromeda too, so this is a bit new. It sounds cool though. It sounds Buffy-centric, so it is even better, 'cuz I am a Buffy or Buffy/Angel-centric person. Yep, that's me! I hope someone picks this idea up.

This has to be later than Andromeda S1 fic, because Trance isn't anymore that purple monkey.
Earth is still there, but it is now slave planet.
Buffy has some holes in her memory, so maybe Trance helps her to find herself. And during that time, Trance doesn't say the truth about her to others.
Is Angel still alive? It's been quite many years when Buffy 'fell asleep'. Let me think about this... It's been about 300 years when Commonwealth lost the war to Nietzscheans. And before that... I don't know how many centuries has passed... Quite many I think.
If someone would like to try this one, there is a good website where you could find some nice info about the timeline, history, ships, life forms etc... www.allsystems.org/
And of course you could use Scifi.com's Andromeda page: www.scifi.com/andromeda/

My knowledge of Andromeda is quite low, but I think it would fit with crossing these two universes. Angel may be alive, and he may not be. Hopefully he is-as I am a BuffyAngel shipper.
Purple monkey? I so need to look into thisshow...

Yes, purple monkey ;D I kinda liked her when she was that mysterious purple skinned girl with a tail. But now she is kinda pretty with that golden skin.
And Angel, he is pretty old by now if we put him in this story...

Oh. Maybe she has an idea what a Slayer is, and an idea what a true angel is, so she doesn't know how Buffy's being, and Buffy ehrself, will react to the latest...enhancements...
