So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #41. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
TIP: This is a BTVS / Angel crossover
CC's Notes: The timeline of this challenge is BTVS S4/AtS S1.
After Angel left Buffy, at first Buffy went serious brooding/crying mode, but after that she wanted to have nothing to do with Angel.
So, when someone offered her 'extra' money if she would do some modeling, she though: 'Why not!'.
Meanwhile Angel is brooding in LA, and then he starts to see Buffy's half-naked body pics (but which are quite beautiful model pics and ads, of course, not some porn pics...) There are Buffy-pics on TV, newspapers, on the streets etc... Angel is quite angry when he sees quys ogling and drooling after Buffy's pics.
What else he would think about?
And what Cordelia would think about when she sees Buffy's pics? (I mean, Buffy has succeeded to get modeling jobs, when Cordy haven't had even one good acting gig...)

It would *so* serve him right for leaving her behind.
Buffy finally achieves her dream of "living" in a world she didn't really fit in, and Angel watches as Los Angeles celebrates the newest "it" girl.
Angel would most likely be angry with her for showing herself off as such and allowing herself to be caught up in the materialism of it all, but he just doesn't understand her need to act normal every now and then, even if it means exclusive parties and mingling.
Now even Angel's office mates are getting into the act. Doyle has a new spread in his section of the office, while to Cordelia, it is "Buffy this" and "Buffy that". It wouldn't be so bad, except Buffy really wants to help out Cordelia and shows up in Los Angeles, Angel's thinking of what could have been while Buffy is completely out there in the 'what could be'.
But when the fight comes back to her, she's ready for it... but will she still accept Angel's help, or is he just vapor to her? What could have been becomes a memory as Angel realizes she's moved on with her life.
I see this as more of a romantic-comedy type thing. Angel, of course, lives in the angst and broody world he has become so accustomed to. Buffy is living the high life as someone who finally gets a chance to live and look pretty doing it. Los Angeles won't know what hits them...
It could be turned both ways. She and Angel could finally reconnect and understand one another in a way they never thought they could. Or, perhaps, she could move on with someone he knows, like a certain law firm takes up a great interest in this Slayer/model and wishes to "highlight" her, and becomes the object of one lawyer's fantasy.
Either way could be fun.

BA first of all... Maybe she took Willy up on his offer of modeling, but of course totally refuses to do nude stuff. Maybe another model is a very good friend of her's, or she gets Lily in the act. Is she going to college?
The scoobys are in Sunnydale-or has Giles slipped his mind and gone back to England thinking that she doesn't need him? Does he know about the modeling? Does he pay attention to it if he does?
IWRY? Maybe that was when she got the modeling offer, and still remembers the Day, so she ignores Angel as much as possible, still being in love with him and all. Does she tell him in the begining, in the end, at all in this fic?
Cordy-does she resent Buffy even more now, or is she stuck in the shallow stuff, thinking Buffy is totally cool or even less now that she is defeniteley at a higher rank then her?
What does Doyle think of it-is it a plot from teh Powers to use this to get Buffy and Angel back together since Angel keeps boggling the plan. How far in the timeline is this?

And again there are really good ideas... and now my own mind is full of new ideas...
You know, I just got a very interesting thought... What happens when Angel sees Buffy's pics for the first time? It would be really funny to know how he reacts. Think about those big ads on busses (you know, like Carrie's bus pics on the Sex and the City show). Angel is standing on the street and bus passes him. And there it is: he sees Buffy's half-naked body. So, what he thinks? Hmmm.... Can vampires have a heart attack? ;D

Have you seen "13 Going On 30"? When Jenna sees the bus with the poster on it for the first time and she has that *look* on her face... I can see Angel with that look of mingled horror, abstract loss and then some.
Vampires can have heart attacks if they don't breathe, right? It would be SO much fun to write... alas.
I am in half-a-mind about making this a Buffy/Angel redemption thing, because "you don't know what you got until it's gone". Or it could be someone else with Angel's blessing... who knows. Not I.

It would be pure torture for Angel when he sees all those pics, posters, commercials (whatever there are...), and then Doyle and Cordelia talks about her all the time, and then he hears men talking about her and drooling after her private parts...
OOH, and what about demons and vampires? Maybe those who knows about her real identity, tell stories about her ('I met her once....' 'I heard she...'). You know, like making her even more famous than she is... And then she is suddenly underworld's pin-up girl...
Hmmm... How many ways Lorne could describe her? (all those nicknames with sugars, pies, cakes etc...)

Ooh, if Angel's enemies got involved, such as Wolfram & Hart, using her as their official "poster" girl... of course, Buffy would not know who they are and would probably accept said position for the extra cash. They, of course, would use this to probably give Angel his second heart attack.
Lorne, sweet Lorne... I have only seen a few episodes with him in it, but that would be entertaining. He could call her so many fun little things.
On second thought, Angel does have the ability to act immature. When he hears vampires talking about wanting to do some rather titchy things to her, he can just reply "I had that first".
Of course, she can show up and totally treat him normal, while everyone else could act like, "you know her"?
Someone might have a lot of fun if they dare give this a try. I am currently working on #25 or else I would consider it (or a few others).

You know, I just had a new idea again ...
How Buffy reacts when she finds out about her sudden popularity in underworld?
She knows she's famous now (maybe she is even a little surprised about all that crazyness around her), but what she thinks when she finds out that demons and vampires also adore her.
What if some demon or vampire would ask her to sign an autograph?
Ooh, let's take this a little farther. How she reacts when she's hunting down some very deadly demon, and she succeeds to find it, and sees how it lives: maybe in some crypt or cave and lots of her pics around its 'home'. Is she shocked? Disgusted? Maybe she is a little angry at first, and then she wants to get some answers what the heck is going on...

The Demon: "Say, you look like..."
Buffy: "Oh, I am totally like..."
The Demon: "Well, I was going to kill you, but since you're here... could you sign this for me?"
Buffy: "I'll trade you one autograph for your sword."
The Demon: "Oh... okay!"
*Buffy kills said demon before having to sign anything*
Or... let's say Buffy is also getting stalked by a form of demon paparazzi, the kind that puts her image everywhere where she wouldn't want it. The only problem is, it identifies her as a Slayer in the realistic world, too.
I would say Buffy would be a little... mortified about her pictures being in the demon realm.
What if someone *is* behind her newfound stardom? What would happen then?
Dun dun dun... the drama of Buffy's popularity continues.

Like I have said - there are so many funny possibilities!
And I got a new idea again (I gotta stop doing that... ;D )
What about bad side of the stardom? Rumors, stalking fans etc...
What if someone says some lies about her, the lie starts to grow bigger and bigger... And what if Angel hears it? The lie has gone through dozens of people so it has grown so big that Angel almost gets that heart attack (again) when he hears it.
What if some demon or vampire say something about Buffy and Spike's engagement (you know, from 'Something Blue'), and after while rumors are going on about them (they are secretly married, they are happy, Buffy wants to have kids etc...) So, how badly Angel reacts? Does he want to rip Spike's head off? Make Buffy as his?

There are many, many things one can do for this. It would be interesting to see both the positive and negative effects of such stardom. Plus, watching Angel experience probably multiple heart attacks is always good. Hey, this is Buffy going "nah nah nah nah nah" to Angel for him walking out... and she isn't about to let him forget it that easily, even if it is not intentional.
I do hope someone picks this up. It reminds me... I have several other plots running around in my head that I will likely never write, considering I do have a lot going on at the moment. Hmm.

Could you imagine Angel's reaction to knowing Spike and Buffy were engaged? He would kill Spike or at least torture him badly. Hell, he might even race up to Sunnydale and kick his butt on his own. I can also see him telling Buffy "that should have been me" and her replying "it would have been had you not run away, you coward".

Damn-I forgot to sign in and reply to this a while ago...
I can just see Angel looking at the bus with that twitchy unbelieving look for a few minutes, and then Buffy having the same one when some demon or vamp asks her about her popularity, with tht twitching of the nose and all...(Anya could say something about being a bunny because of the nose twitching and the Buffy'Bunny closeness, and then the look that makes fear come into your eyes like Anya thinks of bunnies...)
The 'engagement of Buffy and Spike' would be cool to see, err, hear of in the fic. Angel hears a rumor over from Sunnyhell, a few months or weeks after Something Blue and throws a fit, say he goes out on patrol, and every single demon or vamp, and person, he runs into is talking about 'that hit motel working for the evil law firm' or something.
Cordy would probably nearly worship her, and then throw a fit when she found out who she was...

Or... Cordelia takes credit for Buffy's success. She knew Buffy was a "loser" in high school and by hanging with Cordelia, Buffy was suddenly "cool". It sort of is the other way around from how Cordy told Anya that Xander was marginally cool just because he hung out with Buffy.
Angel's going to have a few headaches this time around...
