So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #68. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
Who hired him to protect Buffy? Buffy's dad (Hank or Giles), her uncle (Giles), her stepfather (Giles) or someone else? (author can decide...)
Why was he hired?
Who is the psychotic ex? (Riley, Angel, Spike, someone else?)
Who are the hormonal teenagers? (Buffy's little sisters, cousins, someone else?)
What Buffy think about him?
TIPS: This is a BTVS AU / The Pacifier crossover

We just saw this film tonight! I personally think it should be twins he tries to protect. He was so much fun with those toddlers, was he not? Okay, idea time. Buffy was the sole survivor of a deadly accident that left hundreds of people dead. Not only was she the only survivor, but she was the one entrusted with the company's most guarded secret. Now someone else wants this information and her guardian, someone far away on his own business, decides it's time to bring in Lieutenant Shane to help. At first, she's mostly all dumb blonde. She has a child (or two or three...) that are always crying, belching, vomiting and smelling up the place. She has her younger sisters and their friends who see her as the go-to person for advice on boys, shopping and dating. But then he starts to see something stronger underneath. Especially when her jealous ex (PLEASE let it be Riley) suddenly invades and threatens to remove his children if they cannot be protected. I'm all out-gassed on this one... but I did have more thoughts. I'll have to write them down next time, unfortunately.

Hmm... Maybe we should add there more kids. More fun for us! Okay, there is that little baby boy/girl, and maybe twin terrors too. Buffy is still quite young, right? So, these twin terrors are maybe four or five years old. They are always curious, touching, tasting, testing, playing, asking everything. Are they boys or girls, or one of both?
About those girls. Maybe they are even more curious about things than those little terrors. They wanna know everything about boys and make-ups. And when Buffy isn't there to answer them, they ask from their 'babysitter'. How many embarassing moments we get out of that? Hmmm... How old those girls are BTW?
Okay, let's bring Riley there. Riley bashing! Let's bring it on! What's his story?

... I have not seen the movie, but as a BA shipper, I will say this. If it's AU, her dad (step? in-law?) Giles gets friends in the gov to help her. Angel, (her husband and father of any and all of her children) has recently died and left her with her sister(s) and kid(s) and everyone is mourning.
She is in trouble, health or body wise, and she has to work now (what does she do? Act? write? reporter? photographer? Designer? What??) and needs someone who can protect the kids. (who and how was Angel killed? Maybe they are now after Buffy and Angel's family.)
Eventually, he becomes an uncle-like person. [not a step-dad for a devoted BA shipper like me.]

Okay, first thing is first.
If Angel is the father and Buffy is now a widow, then three children sound perfect. Twins and a baby... poor little Lieutenant Shane is going to have his hands full.
If Riley is an ex and Angel was the father, he's probably jealous, even if one of the children takes to him. She'd probably be mortified though if the children called him "Daddy". I really would rather have Angel be the father, but if Riley is an ex... I am so tempted to bash Riley. He has so earned it.
Maybe Angel/Riley had sisters that Buffy decided she would take in following Angel's death/Riley's disappearing off of the face of the Earth. I would say between ten and fourteen for ages. Maybe there are three or four of them. It would be nice to have a teenage male around, too. One that is sort of really sensitive and completely non-Shane. He is a tough military guy who thought the boy from the film doing Drama was kind of cool. What if this boy preferred modeling or something?
I would agree that in the end they should be friends. In the film, the Mum and Seals guy never got together. But I love Vin and just... I'm torn. Literally, quite torn.

Yeah, totally. Riley could just be a guy who has been tryin gto go out with her forever, but she aslways said no cuz she was with Angel. I think they would have a lot of money for various reasons, (but Angel(Aus) has been around a long time and has a lot of spending to get too[for a vamp in cannon I mean]) and he probably has a lot of money from whatever jobs they have or maybe Buffy came into inheritance.
I think they should at least have two kids to take care of Shane, but maybe Dawn is a lot younger and around, and maybe (as an AU) Angel has some bros or sisters. That would give Shane more people to watch over at the same time.

Is Connor here? *laughing my head off* I just got very disturbing (?) idea. What if Andrew is in this fic? Lt. Shane is very manly character, and then there is Andrew with his 'gay-ness'. How would Shane react if Andrew gives him some special attention? And BTW, Andrew could be Buffy's brother or some other relative, and he doesn't have to be younger one.

Maybe Buffy or Angel or someone in the scooby gang was a friend of Tucker's, and when he 'dissapeared' or something, Andrew started hanging around and just became a part of the huge group too.
If he started throwing 'looks' at the big protector guy, Shane could be all wierded. THat'd be funny. But are we looking for a big showdown with a bad group/guy, or is it just an ending where the scooby all make up with each other and Buffy starts to deal?

Oh, damn! Imagine Andrew and his inept geekiness matched against Lieutenant Shane's hardcore military motif! He would be babbling about Star Wars, Star Trek, stupid anime while Shane just stood there, rolling his eyes.
He probably would take to Connor. Connor has a bit of discipline in him, being raised in Hell and all, right? He's a bit of an attitude problem though and wouldn't take to Shane's "do what I say when I say it" method of control.
Those two males are just two distinct possibilities.

Well, are you going for AU, or that the demon world actually exists? If you're going for option B, then maybe he is trained in hard core demon-killing on the side of the normal human stuff to go along with them.
Personally, I have always held to the belief that Connor is Buffy's son from IWRY, but that's just me. I think that Shane and Connor would clash and then kind of bond with the hard life experience.
Or maybe something really bad has happened to Angel, like he's in a coma now or osmething, and Giles hires some people from the government cause the president, who may know that Buffy is a big peice to play in America's (and Earth's) survival? *shrugs* farfetched, but I haven't seen the movie. But I did just see Ring 2 last night with two friends!

Originally I thought that this would be AU (really, really AU with simple humans, no vampires, no demons etc.) but if someone gets more ideas from this when Buffy has demons after her, then go for it.

In my case, Connor could have been raised in a foster home and is completely anti-parental control right now. He didn't have to be raised in Hell.
I would prefer Angel to either be kidnapped someplace or comatose rather than dead, because that means there is always an opportunity for him to return.

That's what I was thinking... at first it was like, "Angel dead?!" That's kinda reaching in teh Buffy-would-not-have-survived-it pile. So what if he is just in a coma or something, or maybe VAMPNAPPED!
oooooooo... that was a good idea. Buffy is out with the cops and stuff trying to find him, and Shane is stuck back at the Hyperion or wherever they live making sure no one hurts the kids.
*grin lights the room with sparks* that was a good idea...

Oooh, yes, it was. And, if the Hyperion is still an AU hotel and this is not a demon/vampire/evil world... well... Angel could have been kidnapped via some conspiracy.

Maybe Buffy and/or Angel or firends and stuff work for teh CIA or governments. That could be a good reason.
