So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #66. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
What's the timeline?
How does she know him?
TIP: This is a BTVS / The Bourne Identity OR Supremacy crossover

I think that this would also be post-S7 or possibly S2 when she is nowhere near the scoobies. Maybe the met in highschool and he was doing a job on her father or her or a friend or something, and she got him to put it off. THey got to be friends before she moved away.
Then something happened and she never got a letter from him again, and in her hectic life, that kinda just faded away.
Maybe he gets attacked by a demon or something, and framed for something else. All in this time, he loses his memory or ability to remember past a certain point. Whatever person he worked for may be trying to do some kind of job on him to work magic or something to extract info or knowledge on the insides of Buffy's heads.
I wouldn't put it across the Council to do something like this since they see everyone as sheep...

Maybe he was one of those unfortunate yuppies who died in the Initiative incident. She watched as the demons pounced upon him, and yet when she sees him alive and well... she is forced to act on it. She knew that his job had been classified and that he had been new to the job. In fact, perhaps he was their inside man other than Riley trying to help them put an end to something that should never have been started in the first place - only the government found out and wanted him axed.

Hmmm... You may have something there. If he wanted to help Buffy to stop Initiative, he had some kind of opinions about the whole project. But then he must joined CIA and became an assassin. Or did CIA or military forced him to become Jason Bourne?

*is now feeling a little guilty*
I have not actually seen these films... I should probably do that before I open my mouth again.
It just seemed like something a CIA agent would do. And it would be a perfect way to get into trouble. He sees people being forced into doing something against their will and he takes action, making the appropriate government all pissed off at him.
Of course, he could have been sent by the government to assassinate her and then he had a change of heart.
*shrugs*

I have only seen some of Bourne Identity, so I can probably offer very little ideas. But maybe he was put on a hit for her or someone close to her by who? The Council? Initiative? Some cell of of hte US gov? Maybe Maggie hired someone to hire him, and then she died and he didn't have to kill her really? Maybe then something happened-he got killed right before restless and only she knew-and when she sees him again, it a world of confusion adn mysterym and intruige and lots of other stuff...

I just read "The Bourne Ultimatum" and after reading it, I have come to believe that this is something Maggie Walsh would do. Instead of using her stupid idea of vampire raccoons or whatever she used, she hires an assassin. Apparently the assassin dies because the demons killed him... or did they? Buffy watched him die, and now... she sees him in Rome, alive and kicking, but without a clue as to who she is. Or where she has been. Does she tell him about what she saw him do or what he tried to do to her? Will he believe there are such things as vampires and demons and Slayers? Would he believe he was sent to kill some ordinary girl and her semi-extraordinary friends?
Mystery and intrigue are just the tip of the iceberg.

True, true. But I've only seen bits and pieces of the movies, so I can't really say much. Maybe he was lookng for his identity in LA in S2, and they met there. He left to continue his search, and she met him again in Rome or wherever years later. Now though, he doesn't remember her or what he learned before.

That way, she would have met him before the incident with the Initiative. Brilliant.

If she met him in LA, maybe she saved him from hell, and he swore to never kill her. If he was hired to kill her by Walsh, maybe he declined, and the dumb doctor took his memory as an experiment. Then she died, and he was left with no clue after the blown up Initiative place.

Or, perhaps like Riley, his brain was addled so that he lost his memories, but they were fed into Adam.
I think that is where you went with this, right?

uhmm... i guess. But I was just thinking that when Walsh was in an experimenting mood, she took some blood and tested some stuff and injected him with something, or something, and then he didn't remember. Whether the memories were fed into Adam is currently under debate.

Well, I thought that a CIA operative would have been taken in by Maggie to further along her research into Adam... I thought that was where you were going with it. My apologies if you were not!

Oh well. We got lots of ideas. We can spread them out and point out a few.
Maybe they brought him in to test the android's mind, and then erased his memories so he would totally forget about it. But the PTBs made him kee a few, or maybe he just didn't forget quite all of them. And he is on the hunt to piece the pieces together.

Which would make perfect sense, by the way.
Or maybe he sees a demon that recognizes him, it scares the wits out of him, and he begins to remember that way.
