So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #52. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
Why did the PTB send her to be a member of Carter family? And why did they take some years away from her, and all of her memories?
Why does she start to get those flashbacks? Will she get her memories back?
TIP: This is a BTVS / Stargate SG-1 crossover

Well, if the PTB have the ability to see the future, then perhaps they saw something that they did not want to see - perhaps the death of Sam Carter, who has been a "champion" of sorts in off-world diplomacy. Perhaps they feel that Sam is at the point of "giving up" everything when something devastating happens (I'm thinking after Jack is "frozen" in Antarctica and she loses the guy we know she loves). Suddenly her sister pops in (sort of like the same way Dawn does, I am assuming), and suddenly, Sam has someone believing in her again.
That would be the reason why the PTB would do something like that. They need both of their champions, and with one sacrificing her life and another about to sacrifice her duty, it would make sense for them to come together, even if it means Buffy gets to be the smartass smart kid she always wanted to be.
I do not think ALL of her memories should come back, but certain ones should. For example, in her new school, she could go bursting through the library doors and say something along the lines of, "I'm here, Giles!" or when the principal takes a disliking to her, she can call him a "Snyder-wannabe". These are just a few examples off of the top of my head. For her other memories, she could see a cross and remember who gave it to her, but not remember his name, how she felt or even if they were friends or more. She is probably pro-school now that she is smart enough, and since Sam's mother died young, when Elizabeth starts getting flashbacks of a different woman, well... that sort of puts a damper on things.
Sam and Elizabeth may yet become close. Of course, Elizabeth has no idea about Jacob/Selmak, nor does she really care for their eldest brother Mark. All she knows is that she wants into the military, which should be enough reason for her to get her flashbacks.
I have a lot of ideas on this one. It could be a beautiful thing. I can just see Buffy doing typical Buffy things in a whole new setting. I would assume that she is still strong even if she may not be the Slayer anymore (that power would have gone back to Faith for her to solely be the ONE Slayer).
Faith, perhaps, is the one that discovers the truth and comes to "find" Buffy after she gets wind that the PTB have turned Buffy into Elizabeth. Of course, Faith would have to be released from jail. Sam's hanging out with aliens and Buffy is getting her kicks with ex-cons... this is definitely one sistership in the works!

This sounds really interesting. It think that she should do things that she has no idea why, but she does them anyways. Like, maybe she has everyone call her Buffy, adn has an unreasonable fear and major hate for hospitals. I think she would actually show her IQ now, but still not fully. Computers could always come along the lines for her, and maybe she virtually meets Red_Witch as B_Blondie or something. Faith showing up would be cool. But maybe she gets into the government and someone old from the Initiative shows up, or something. What about Dawn though? This goes AU from 'The Gift' I'm assuming, so maybe Dawn got hijacked to teh higher plane with Buffy, and is still her younger sister or something-just a thought. Don't get too technical on me. It would be cool if she was some major hacker like the Red_Witch and she got into files of the Initiative or SGC or soemthign. Or Maybe as Elisabeth Carter, she personally knows all about aliens and stuff from her big sis.

I am not a big fan of Dawn. Don't get me wrong, she can be a fantastic character (as I pretty much saw in Season 7), but Season 5 Dawn bugged the living heck out of me! I seriously would not mind if she became a non-issue, as in, her Dad picked her up, or maybe she became Angel's responsibility.
Speaking of keys... what if Buffy was made into one? What if the PTB decided to make the unneeded Slayer into a Key, one that could open the lock to the Ancient's weapon, and gave her to the one person who could protect her? Buffy could finally play the part of the younger sister who has an incredible level of intelligence (I think she should know what Sam knows, especially if parts of "Elizabeth" were created from her) and the greatest potential, if only she wasn't the most hunted thing in the universe...

I gotta agree with you. I don't mind if she's not even mentioned in this story - sorry guys, no offense, but I really don't like her.
That Key thing sounds really nice and interesting. What if someone founds something really exciting and mind-blowing but no one understands what it actually is or how it operates, and then Buffy just comes in and touches it, and... Then what? Ok, that was just an idea. But the Key idea could really work.

Key Idea: okay, I can see this. What if Buffy can just find things out that the others can't manage to see-like encrypting codes or soemthing. Being able to pick things out easier. She would have reeeealy good luck in things like drawings where someone would pick her name for soemthing or something. Does that amek any sense? Languages, locks, and security systems so totally wouldn't be a problem for her...
Dawn: I only like her when I AU her a little. Otherwise, I try to ignore her as much as possible. But I like Angel-cuz I am a BA shipper- so that part of 'leaving Dawn in Angels hands to be out of the fic all the way' thing kinda rubs me the wrong way...
The SGC could already be getting her into the program cuz she is like super smart and gets everyone to like her. ANd what about Thor? Maybe he comes and talks to her alot for a reason the others cannot seem to fathom.
I'll find the thing I just forgot later...

Have you ever seen Mercury Rising? It's a film with Alec Baldwin and Bruce Willis made in 1998. Anyway, there was a child in the film who could pick out codes and everything from a sequence of numbers and pictures. I think Buffy would be able to have this gift, especially if it was bestowed upon her as a "gift" to being a Key.
What if Thor's race, the Asgard, were part of TPB? Or else had serious connections with them, considering that the Asgard were part of four great races. The Ancients could have been involved, too, I suppose. Thor is always a joy to talk to, and I can see him and Buffy confusing the hell out of each other with the way they both talk.
So many good Stargate bunnies... so many directions to go. What to do, what to do..

I've seen that movie, and I think your idea quite good. I think the boy in that movie was an autistic, so he liked doing those special puzzles.
Ok, think about Buffy - Californian bottle blonde sewing pink bubblegum with bored expression reading some 'Eyes Only' papers that contain high level (unbreakable) codes OR looking at some codes from computer monitor (think about Matrix), and then she just says what's in those codes. Any shocked faces around her? ;D

Yeah, I did not mention that fact because Buffy is neither a child nor autistic. I figure she has some new knowledge bestowed upon her.
I can see her like Harmony was in the beginning of Angel when she first showed up... all airhead-y yet quite intelligent when she had to be. And, of course, our dear Buffy can always save the day from some disastrous mission.
As soon as I am done with FtS, I might consider this one. Of course, I still have Las Vegas sitting on my back burner, too. I should really spend some time on that story, as well.
Buffy should be invited to a tour when suddenly all the power codes drain and there is an alien incursion into the SGC. The alien communicates with a seriously evil encryption sequence and only Buffy knows how to read it. THAT would get some shocked faces, for certain.

So, what's the status' of these fics? How much have you written FtS? Is it finished soon (pretty, pleeeease)? There are too reason why I'm asking about this: Number UNO: I wanna read your story - of course. Number DOS: I'm gonna make a list where all the fics based on my challenges/bunnies will be added, so everyone knows what challenges/bunnies have been taken and by whom.

Yay on the sectin for finished bunnie/inspiration answered fics. What's FTS? fic wise I mean? Yeah, whatever code used, maybe it's A) something only she can read. B) something simple that every teenager knows, but none of the 'grown ups can figure out. C) something like the 'angelic' language (language of the angels [maybeit's sound codes?]) that only she can understand, and Daniel too if he has 'un-ascended.' Yeah, that's the word. D) Maybe she can only read it because it is a language connected to the past of The Slayer. E) Maybe it's off of something she created herself? Uhmm... I see her acting all blonde and stuff, but she is like supersmart even though she rarely shows it. She would rather not show it, liking to surprise others...

I'm gonna do this as soon as possible. Even if I don't have much to put in there at the moment. I really hope authors inform me if they've taken some of my challenges/bunnies.
Aly, am I correct if I say FtS would be 'Follow the Stars'?

Yes, FtS is "Follow the Stars". It's my working title, and I love it like my own child. I just sent the first part of it to my beta reader, so hopefully I should be getting some feedback soon. I might just post the story for the heck of it, though. I am working on the second part as we speak, so hopefully the entire story will be done soon and I will have a "finished work" in my notched column.
A thought just occurred to me... the codes written in "valley" speak, you know... the whole Buffy-in-high-school banter. That would be enough to cause many, many headaches.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I don't know enough about the details in SGC to really write a true fic about this cannon show though... *sigh* ANyways, I hope you get your fic done soon. I would post it unbeta'd and then repost it after your beta betas it. But that's just me. I don't really wanna judge anyone for thier work since my stuff isn't much of a beta job...

I have watched four seasons thusfar and have started on the fifth. It was far too easy to get hooked on it. I'm quite surprised it hadn't happened before. Okay, I fixed up the un-beta-read version of the story. The beta reader I have asked to look over the first part of it is a thorough one, so it is likely the story will change drastically. I usually do not write for Buffy (I was a pure Lord of the Rings girl before I stumbled onto this challenge site and it was only with the influence of my brother that I even started watching Buffy in the first place!) so I hope she can give me tips because I feel as though her character is slightly off. Consider McPlotBunny #7 answered: www.five-by-five.us/words/follow/. At least, the first part is done. I am still working on the second, and I am even more tempted to pick up another Stargate crossover, as I have become oddly addicted to the show. To both of them, really. I am torn between this one and by McPlottie Number 6 on the other side of the tracks.
