*snort* Do I ever...
The first season I watched was Season 7. At the end, I was asking myself who the gorgeous brunet was that happened to adore the Slayer and wondered why Spike despised him so much. To me, without knowing how the beginning of their relationship started, he felt like a filler-character that really had no place. Maybe that is what turned me off to him in the beginning.
I do know where you are going with this!
I might have to give this one a try, considering poor Aiden Ford is being dropped to recurring after this season is over. For some odd reason, the Stargate producers are starting to make a few very stupid decisions, but, as always, that is my own opinion.

I can't help but wonder where the bad, mean, and unattractive problems get started; the producers, writers, editors, actors/actresses, directors, or a multitude of things that both connect us with our TVs and make us all want to run away and cry, and then be really loud and throw things at the people that technically own shows like BTVS and SGC.

I was ready to throw my shoes at the television set following the end of the fourth season, yet... alas... I watched every... single... episode. This is the reason why fanfiction has become so nice for me... we finally have a reason to give our characters the lives we think they deserve.

oooo.... Yeah, I would have thrown things at my tv at home, but it's a bigscreen and plasma, so it would effectiveley brake it. I can't say the same thing for my glass one in my room though... About the inspi, what about Robin? Do I see any relation or old comradmenship between them if he ever ends up there?

The television I watched most of the Buffy episodes on was a 1985 box donated to my old house. Hence, it was easy to throw things at it. They made funny noises, too.
Robin, the principal. I do not know about relations or such, but perhaps he and Aiden knew one another. He could have been in college and student taught at Hemry when Buffy blew it up.

Yeah, I'm jsut going for common characters to put with Buffy. It owuld be out of my character to AU a fic to where there is no otehr from the show in a fic, even if it is bashing.

You have a point.
Maybe we should AU it to the point where we bash all of Buffy's ex's in the face of her new honey. It would be fun for Whipped!Spike, Ponce-y!Riley and Dipshit!Robin to get theirs.

I don't really count Robin as one of her honies, but whatever. He could have always started flirting during his date with her before it even became close to a one night stand, and then stalked her, making him teh dipshit. ANd I am all for the bashing. If you want to put Lt. Ford in the ex pile, maybe she thought he did something-misinterpreting whatever it wasm and him her, and then they went all ex. That link and trust can be reastablished if they both realise it. Maybe...

Robin asked her out. That, to me, is Buffy's idea of a "honey". She considered him to be such I think at one point, but I could have been mistaken. There is plenty of opportunity for him to grow stupid. I think as the series went on, he continued deteriorating to really stupid.
Of course, Aiden could be set in those ranks, as well.

True. So, the thing Aiden is trying to do is regain her trust-Oh. The reason they 'split': he may have said something in words of mean passion, and Buffy does as she usually does by recoiling with hurtful words (whether truth or lies) in her defence.

Or, he could have discovered her nighttime obsession, called her a "freak of nature", in which case she would have bombarded him with her mock-Buffy wisdom. There are so many ways their break-up could have occurred. She may have simply moved away. Her parents could have intervened. His parents could have intervened. Speaking of intervention, Aiden has been dropped to recurring next season on Atlantis! I am so disappointed! Stupid writers... stupid, stupid writers...

What is it with writers/directors/and other people involved with casting?! They always have to make these little plot holes whic only manage to piss off all the viewers!

*is still sharpening said utensils for attacking since Janet was killed off*
No kidding. ;D
I suppose Aiden will always live through fanon, even if they kick his poor butt out in canon.

CANNON is Joss's way of giving us direct plot. FANNON is the way of putting things the way we think things are or should be.
