So, this is my Inspirational Challenge #62. I won't give much more than this pic, so work with it.
What comes into your mind when you look at this pic and read the text? What do you think?
What's the timeline?
What Heaven and Hell want from them?
What is the connection?
TIP: This is a BTVS / Constantine crossover

I have yet to see the film and I probably should before I begin commenting on things I really do not understand, but I just had to suggest this: the balance.
They both serve as the balance between all good and all evil. To have both disappear would restore the balance and thus a truce is reached between the higher powers and the powers below.
This of course is just a suggestion. I should see the film before I comment further.

Balance: the idea that they will both die and even it out is an idea if you want to play them both against the PTBs as well as evil, but what if, to kill either of them or both, will tilt the balance instead?
I haven't seen the movie either, so I probably shouldn't be talking about it. But it's a cool inspi and I can't resist...

See? Even when next to nothing is known about a topic, these images are hard to resist!
I figured that would be the easiest path to take in facing the balance. That way, if they both died, the world would no longer be all jumbled and chaotic.

If thier souls are really old, then maybe they've always been important parts of the balance. Maybe the armies of demons are trying to trap them instead of just kill them, tilting the balance in one direction? Thinking it is Post S7 where Buffy has ditched the scoobie finally, where would these to go in order to seek shelter, and what would they do to get the enemies off thier tail? Oh-oh-oh! I came up with a little saying for the 'idea' thingy that lightbulbed in my head! ::::::: [glow=pink,2,300] They met at an ambush. They learned on the run. They hid underground and they found love. Too restore the balance, Something has to happen. But why are neither the PTBs and Evil aware of the oncoming revelation? Is the baby a part of the truce, or a treaty for the future? Is it in the way, or all in her imagination? [/glow]

Are you saying that they had a child? Interesting enigma, that...
I like that sort of prophecy thing you have worked up. It nicely fits the whole theory that Hell would want them to bring forth "total darkness".

I just wanted to play with that balance thing you both have mentioned, and I think it would be an idea that could really work.
I mean, let's think about this: (WARNING - if you haven't seen Constantine, this comment has spoilers)
Constantine tried to do a suicide, so he was sent to Hell, but he was dead only for couple of minutes, and then he came back to the land of living (you know, he so much like Buffy that it is actually kinda scaring). Hell wants him because he 'belongs' to them.
Buffy was ripped from Heaven, she is the most feared warrior of PTB, and they really wanna keep her in a short leach.
But, the harder both sides try to get their warriors, the harder they try to get away.
What the both forces would do if these two warriors met? Would the forces try to seduce them to kill each other by lying to them?
There really could be some kind of prophecy about them. A (hidden?) prophecy that would explain the balance, and how there wouldn't be any Evil or Goodness, Dark or Light, Satan or God, there would only be a balance. I don't think either of those sides would like the idea of the balance.
So, what do you think about this?

Oh, wow. I like that idea...
That would be a reason to have a baby, wouldn't it? That child would be the "balance" incarnate, in other words, it would ensure that the balance would be kept. That means that their respective powers have to keep these two apart at whatever cost, except they keep finding their way back to one another. Time and time again. Wouldn't that piss off their respective PTB just a teeny tiny bit?

It was just a thought but now my head is doing that thing where all the little knuts and screws start cracking like fireworks and working together to make an imaginery little world where I still know nothing about the movie.
A baby would work if you ask me. Both sides would be wanting the child, but the parents both forbid it on rules that both dark and light have to abide by; that would mae at least a temporary truce until the child dies or something, but then the rules would still be off to whether the child went to hell or heaven according to the PTBs of Light or Dark.
Like, maybe the child is to choose which side he/she/they is/are on and that will determine which side ahs the upper hand when the two sides go back to battling.

In other words, their child would decide the fate of Earth, as a battle-plain between Good and Evil or else one dominating the other. I like that.
*shudders*
Poor baby... he/she probably gets picked on a lot.
The child would have extraordinary powers, as well. It would be nice to see baby Constantine paired up against the wills of other baby Scoobies.

Yeah... of coures, the way I'm thinkin this post S7 fic would go, the scoobies are mostly out of the picture. Of course the fate of the world could just always be dependant on whether the baby survives to a certain age if there wasn't going to be some big battle. poor baby-he/she/they life is going to be interupted by saving thier own life. THinking about it that way, that's what the 'End of Days' might really be. Irony and all...

Oh, that poor baby is going to have one hell of a life. I really hope Buffy considers letting the other Slayers in on this because the power of multiple Slayers should be able to protect the Apocalypse child.

... what if the New Council thinks the baby has to be destroyed for evil to lose that hold... that could be another friction-maker between the once-friends of the scoobies. What are they really without thier slayer?
And if the SITs get to be trouble, and the 'good' PTBs finally do something only kinda smart, maybe they unactivate the ones trying to kill the child? It would make a thing for Faith and Buffy to re-bond together with.

It would be awesome to see the good PTB versus the pompous smartasses that make up the Watcher's Council. That would be a worthwhile good vs. evil battle.

Council: Once, they were smartass pompouses whose only goal was to find the slayer, train the slayer, find and train potentials, and then monitor the slayer and wait for the next Potential to be called. geeze! What's up with that?! It's pretty obvious from what Andrew said in S5 ats. We all know that Buffy would have never done that. Even if it wasn't BA or BS on the mind, Andrew is a little prick no matter what and Buffy would never turn her back on the trust she left with Angel!
